Each Sunday in December we will gather for worship at 10:30am for worship. We held our 81st Annual Carol Candlelight Service on December 8th.
For Christmas Eve, join us at 6pm for our intimate annual Christmas Eve service which ends with candlelight and singing. We will not hold services on Christmas Day.
Advent is the season that precedes Christmas, where we celebrate the central claim that God took on humanity and dwelt among us. This season is marked by two conflicting realities. Advent is a patient season, where we recognize that many of us are waiting for God to show up in a decisive way. Yet holidays can also be a season of hurry and anxiety for many of us. Holiday time is fractured time. Here at First Baptist, we want to settle into that first understanding of time, where God invites us to wait with the rest of creation for the renewal of all things. This is why Advent coincides with the winter season, with long nights and fallow ground. So we invite you to experience a different kind of time this holiday season, where the hurry of this world is subsumed by the patience of God.
